Types of Journals

I learnt the hard way that not all book types work as paper craft journals. The book that I was originally using was one that had the pages glued together along the spine, rather than one that was secured by stitching. I got about 9 pages done and had pages falling out that I had to re-stick together… I couldn’t continue with that book without having to glue the whole thing together or pulling it apart to create a whole other book! I love this book and the quote on the cover so I’ll have to come up with a way to continue the journal, even if it means that I glue every few pages together to create strength to try and reduce the amount of pages that will detach from one another.
If you have any ideas for how I can fix the book to still continue to use it as my journal, I’d love to hear them! I will try any and all suggestions, pop a comment below.
Off I went shopping to get a new book… I wanted to try and get a dot journal but they don’t seem to be very popular in store anymore and the one I already have is a spiral bound journal, I really wanted a bound book. To make things difficult, there don’t seem to be many notebooks with white pages that have a spine that isn’t glued together. Typo has beautiful journals, just not the ones that I was particularly looking for and in the store that I looked at, most had the glued spines.

Neds was the next stop on the shopping trip, there were a lot of different designs, all lined pages but I was able to find an amazing journal that still had a beautiful quote on the cover to promote motivation “Dreams don’t work unless you do”. I wanted this new journal to still have a quote rather than being plain to signify that it is important to keep working on my dreams to ensure I achieve them.

You may have seen my SHEIN hall on my Facebook & Instagram. The latest journal I got was a mini journal that has a grid style page and I can add additional pages if I wish. At this stage I have only done 1 page but I quite like the idea of having just a single page with a theme, rather than a double page. I am excited to see how the mini journal develops and the themes that I design as my skills for journaling evolve.
